We implemented Oracle ADW for an aviation client implementing ODI marketplace & OAC (Oracle Analytics Cloud) building Finance, supply chain & HR Analytics.
  • Fully Managed Cloud Infrastructure
  • Easy Admin Activties
  • friendly Developer UI/web SQL option
  • Wallet/Security option ease in SQL Dev Desktop application
  • Option of loading parquet files into ADW DB
  • Oracle_CX Python package
  • Easier access to connecting to Data lake files & reading them directly similar to Apache Hive
  • Association/Intro to Data lakes & Spark access from ADW
  • Streaming Features direct availability/Plugging stream data into ADW
More for relational database requirements where DW analytics is needed. While Not many features to connect the data from a data lake & use it against real-time/stream analytics.

Oracle Autonomous Database is the primary database at my current project, and it serves as a backend for a UI that caters to more than 25000 users per day. It caters their day to day need to transact and fetch reports. Oracle Autonomous Database does a great work of handling all the requests and catering to all the users without any failure.
  • Less resource utilization
  • Quick performance
  • Quick issue resolution
  • Less manual intervention
  • Connectivity to more tech stack
  • Better user control
Oracle Autonomous Database works well with backend structure for applications; however, I felt it has a scope to improve a data warehouse. It can perform really well in OLTP environments however with OLAP it struggles a bit.

I work with an Oracle partner in my country (El Salvador ). I use Oracle Autonomous Database in Demonstrations or POC for training, certification, and support for our customers where Autonomous is deployed personally. I always have a free account. It is wonderful to have access to Autonomous unlimited during this time.

Oracle Autonomous database is specially being used for tracking workload as well as to monitor who can access the database available.
There are numerous business problems that has been solved like:
Performance optimisation
Capacity judgement
Creates more value to data
Improves ROI, Better organisation understanding,Detection of real time threats

  • Real time reporting
  • Developing new application
  • Security
  • Monitoring of Saas solution
  • Hectic process
  • Free training should be provided
  • Clarity issues with dashboard
  • Could be more user friendly
Scenarios where this is best suited are like where there are not large set of data which has to be analyzed and extracted. It helps in the efficiency of data .It is also well suited for medium size companies where you have to create a common data for everyone.
As for large set of data, there can be network latency issues and thus there are some limitations of this software.

It is used across organizations in different projects. It has the best performance as compared to other databases and best in security as well. Synchronization between servers Master & Slave is acceptable. We have functions and procedures which have thousands of lines of codes and all these are stored under one package, which makes it easy to maintain.
  • Specific encryption and decryption
  • Security
  • Performance
  • Multi-tenancy required improvement
  • Distributed architecture
It is the best-suited database overall for every scenario. Best for user management, transaction management, secure areas, such as banking data, storing some specific keys, secure data, encrypted data, and offers a huge procedure and function.

Central DB is through Oracle [Autonomous Database] and it is pretty reliable and stable; we are happy with it and we choose it instead of the cloud for security reasons. If we could make it a bit faster will be great, but [outside] of that, it's just fine. Clients are happy and it is used in our group in over 10 countries.
  • Scans evidence in-warehouse
  • Track and trace tables
  • Financial evidence
  • [Could have a] more user-friendly interface
  • [Could have] easier travel through tables
  • [Could have] faster processing
[Well suited for] shipping companies; we prefer this database instead of the cloud for security reasons and data protection.

We use it heavily on the data warehouse side, where it is essential to store large quantitative of different types of data, which later on need to be analytically queried. Also, it supports transactional loads for a high degree of concurrent users, offering reliability and scaling capabilities on different hardware platforms.

It was used by multiple BU within the organization, it was used for warehousing purposes and later data marts were created in order to support organization-wide reporting. Able to handle large data volume and support both transactional as well as data warehousing solutions. Integration with other solutions is very easy and user support/community is also very helpful. It reduces the operational cost up to some extent as it's could based.
  • It can automatically scale computing, which provides very fast query processing.
  • No database administration or backup replication as error handling is all done by an autonomous database.
  • It has self repairing attributes.
  • The Oracle machine learning can do predictive analysis.
  • Multimedia could be improved as the workspace manager is missing.
  • Integration with other data sources is limited.
  • I can't seem to update/alter the tablespace.
It is very easy to implement and with almost no maintenance. It provides easy monitoring, by default fine-tuning, and query optimization. The system automatically takes care of required backups and error handling. It provides almost all features supported by RDBMS systems, such as tables, functions, procedures, triggers, etc. It didn't allow to manage database instant memory size or configurations. The alter command will not work.

On many projects, our organization uses Oracle Autonomous Database to reduce running costs by automating database management with machine learning and having almost no administration. It is self contained and aids us in automating patching and updating in order to offer the best possible support to the end users of our framework.
  • Self-sufficient
  • Outstanding results
  • Extremely secure
  • Lowers operational and administration costs
  • Excellent customer service
  • Very dependable
  • It's easy to use
  • It's always a pain to import data from other database.
  • No private IP address, no access to the database's operating system
  • There is a scarcity of preparation materials.
It is a good, automated database tool based on the future, and I strongly recommend it to organizations and enterprises that must deal with large and distributed databases. It is independent and can help us automate the execution of patches, services, and backups to ensure that the program is best distributed to end users.

It is used by our organisation and we have also implemented it for our customers. It is the next generation automated aspect of creating and managing things. From setup to operation, patching and performing tuning , the whole gamut of administration is automated thereby making it a robust DB system.
  • It is purely autonomous.
  • All maintenance tasks are taken care of by Oracle.
  • Better performance.
  • System is robust and resides on Exadata platform.
  • Monitoring console is also provided. Least intrusive by an external DBA.
  • Different modes of connections are available - high, medium, low, TP, TP Urgent, making it easier to select the connection service to the DB and making for optimum use of resources.
  • Autonomous DB integration with PeopleSoft. Issues noticed in the application.
  • More flexibility of user access to DB OS.
  • External connections using DB link is not possible .
  • Appears sophisticated as a majority of the controls reside with Oracle in terms of security, patching, maintenance, tuning. Less responsibility to a proficient DBA.
Oracle is easy to use and not many resources are required. The base version is available free.

The database is used for central storage of corporate data for multiple departments across the organization. The problem it solves is to consolidate disparate data from the organization. I design applications and approaches for our development team. With my teammate, we come up with approaches for data modeling.
  • Simple data retrieval using standard SQL
  • Capable of supporting many simultaneous users/connections
  • Fast loading of data in batch processing
  • Improved connection abandonment detection would be useful. I occasionally encounter situations where a query becomes unresponsive due to deadlock, volume of data being queried, or other. It would be beneficial if there were better support for client-side cancellation events.
The database is very well suited for online transaction processing as well as offline batch processing. It may be less appropriate for large scale analytics when using the same data models used for OLTP.

Oracle Autonomous Database is secure and highly easy to use and is a great database product. Complex yet fast, Oracle Autonomous Database gives access to data needed to handle the organization business needs. It provides users with easy mapping, link and join on query and informative reports. The database schema divides in a way to meet business and security needs.
  • Easy data extracts.
  • Fast data returns.
  • Systematic database structure design.
  • It is a complex database.
  • Support is not as easy.
  • Troubleshooting is not as easy.
When users have limited database knowledge, it is difficult to get started accessing the business data they need. For sensitive data filtering, Oracle Autonomous Database may need to have more skills on implementing the security data access. The company needs to have strict data access policy that limits the uses of the database access power for users.

Oracle Autonomous Database is used to host different applications databases including ERP, Human Resources, Pension Information system and other smaller systems. We faced some issues related to Oracle Autonomous Database performance during the last year and would like to get benefit of Oracle Autonomous Database self tuning and added management features. We think that this new version is really solve the performance issues.
  • Memory Management.
  • Storage Management.
  • Performance Tuning.
  • Integration with other storage providers.
  • Training.
Oracle Autonomous Database is good when you need the database to tune itself, create resource plans and gives indexing recommendations. Storage management is also important aspect that Oracle Autonomous Database is providing. We used to have an error messages when one table space is full, or the users are disconnected from the system when the memory is full. I think that this database is appropriate and more features are very welcome.
